Smart Filters (SF)

Smart Filters allow filtered views of the report based on the click of a button. The buttons are surfaced in the Report and display the 4 character labels assigned to each unique value.

 

In the illustration below, you can see that two columns have been chosen as quick filters. You can choose up to Four columns as ‘Smart Filters’ in total and have up to 4 unique values from each column visible as Smart Filter buttons.

 

There can be a total of 16 SmartFilter buttons and you can choose to split them as 4 unique values for 4 different columns, 8 each for 2 different columns or 16 buttons just for one column.

 

The first page of the ‘Smart Filters’ setup process appears as shown below.

In this panel, you can view the list of data models associated with this report and their constituent columns. Drag columns you wish to filter from any of the Data Models to the corresponding Data Model panels on the right.

The data models associated with this report are listed here. The columns to be used as Smart Filters must be placed in these spaces. You may repeat the column more than once if you require more than 4 unique values from the same column

Clicking on this + button displays list of fields of data associated with each data model as a drop down list. You may pick the required columns from the list too

 

In the SF Setup section, you can see how the quick filters appear on the actual report. There are 3 buttons assigned to the Customer Region and 5 buttons assigned to the Product Category column.
