A widget appears as a unit of information on the dashboard. As an author, you create widgets while creating a dashboard.
A widget can only be associated with the dashboard where it is created. If you want to reuse a widget from another dashboard in the dashboard you are creating or modifying, you can import the widget. The import creates a copy of the widget within the dashboard to which you are importing it. This ensures that any changes you make to the imported widget or the original widget do not affect the other, as they are independent of each other.
